You’ve probably seen the red logo around. "Voted Product of the Year". It sounds nice, but what does it actually mean? And above all: is it deserved?
When we heard that Qallo was nominated, we decided not to just hope for the best. We wanted to know what the critical Belgian consumer really thinks when they test our product, without the marketing fluff around it.
The independent research agency Treetz conducted the study. The results are in, and because we believe in transparency (and because we are secretly very proud of the numbers), we are sharing the 5 most striking conclusions from the report directly with you.
This is why Qallo Energy won the prize.
1. The taste
Taste is subjective, but numbers aren't. The biggest hurdle for new users is often the fear of a "chemical" powder taste.
In the blind test, where Qallo Energy was compared to other products in the category "Fruity hydrating drinks", the results were clear. Where the benchmark got stuck at a mediocre 4.9/10, Qallo received an overall satisfaction score of 8.1/10.
The testers used words like "Nice and fresh", "Not too sweet", and "Fruity" in their feedback. Proof that a functional drink can also just be tasty.

2. Qallo gives you energy without the crash
Many testers indicated they were looking for energy, but were tired of the side effects of coffee or classic energy drinks.
The report shows that Qallo Energy scores high on Innovation. Why? Because the formula, a mix of B-vitamins and natural caffeine from fruit and plants, does what it promises: a healthy boost, without the crash.

3. People drink (much) more water with Qallo
This was the most important confirmation for us. Our mission is to help people drink more water. But does it actually work?
The feedback from the testers shows that this is the #1 reason for the high score:
- "Makes drinking water tastier and gives it more variety."
- "Tasty flavor, makes the water more attractive to drink."
The research confirms that Qallo isn't seen as a soda, but as a tool to easily reach those 2 liters of water a day.

4. Quality over Quantity
The survey also asked about brand perception. What stood out in the Treetz results is that the "Perceived Quality" was significantly higher than the market average.
Consumers indicated they value the origin. Qallo is 100% Belgian developed and produced. In a market full of vague import supplements, that local transparency (sugar-free, vegan, clear ingredients) proves to be a decisive factor for trust.
5. Too expensive?
Fair is fair: in the report, the price per tub was sometimes described as "expensive" at first impression. But what we saw in the Purchase Intent is that this changed as soon as people tasted it and did the math.
With a price of about €1 per serving, Qallo is considerably cheaper than the alternatives the testers usually bought (soda, coffee to go, or bottled water). Especially when you know that with one serving of Qallo, you can easily make 1 to 2 liters of drink. The jury's verdict was ultimately that the quality justifies the price.

Conclusion: Deserved winner?
The data doesn't lie: with a final score of 8.3/10 (compared to a benchmark of 5.4), the Belgian consumer has spoken.
We are incredibly happy with the recognition. But we are even happier that we have it in black and white that we help you easily drink more water, and give your water a healthy boost on top of that.
Are you still that one skeptic who wants to taste it first yourself? You're absolutely right.
